After a disappointing loss to CSU San Marcos last week, the Golden Eagles women's volleyball team played host to West Coast Baptist College, in what was a late addition to the season schedule. Tonight's match was the first of nine straight matches to be played at home to close out the regular season, for the Golden Eagles. And the team started the home stand with a dominating performance in a victory over West Coast Baptist in three straight games, 25-17, 25-8, 25-21.

looked well rested, eager, and focused as they hit the floor tonight against the Eagles of West Coast Baptist (Lancaster, CA). La Sierra jumped out to the early lead and were in complete control during a victory in the first game. They followed things up with a dominating victory in game two, by a final of 25-8. It was the second most lopsided victory for the Golden Eagles this season. The team had a 25-5 over Pacific Union College in a victory earlier in the season. Ultimately, they were able to close things out with a closely played Game 3, which saw both teams play to some great rallies and exchanging thunderous kills along the way

Lina Semaia led the way for La Sierra with 12 kills on 23 attempts for a .435 hitting percentage. Shelby Madigan finished with a hitting percentage of .467 with eight kills on 15 attempts, to go along with 12 digs. Colleen Stafford and Tiana Whitlock split the setting duties and each contributed 15 assists. The Golden Eagles helped their cause with 10 service aces, led by Siao Malepeai with four and Lupe Garcia with three.

Next up for the Golden Eagles will be match versus No. 10 Westmont College. La Sierra lost to the Warriors, 0-3, in Santa Barbara, back on September 4. The Golden Eagles will look to pull the upset and improve on their current record of 15-8 Tuesday's match is scheduled for 7pm.
