Angwin, CA - Capping off their busy weekend, the Golden Eagles women's basketball team travelled to Pacific Union College to play their third and final game in as many days. After splitting their first two games on the trip, the Golden Eagles were once again faced with another quick turnaround, playing their second consecutive game with less than 20 hours between the two games. But La Sierra made sure that the start time wouldn't be an issue. They were in complete control of the game and cruised to a 54-41 win over the Pioneers.
La Sierra was able to spread the scoring around this afternoon and led by as many as 20 points in the second half. Joirdan Jones was 4-of-8 from the field including 3-of-six from the three-point line to finish with 11 points. Shelby Madigan added nine points and three rebounds. Mickayla Tickey pitched in with eight points and seven rebounds.
With the win, the women's basketball team once again moves to within one game of the .500 mark. They push their record to 11-12 on the season with seven games remaining in the regular season. The team will travel to The Master's College on Thursday evening to face the Mustangs, who are 17-1 on the season. The Golden Eagles played one of their best games of the season in their first meeting in late November, eventually falling short 79-76. The Golden Eagles will close the month out with their lone home game of the month next Thursday, January 31, at 7:30pm.
