Lancaster, CA - The La Sierra bats came alive as the team tallied 13 runs on 17 hits in the game.
Freddy Rivas Jr. who had had four hits, scored four runs and had one RBI led the team. Ryan Diaz followed with three hits and three RBI's. Adrian Gardea also tallied three RBI's in the game. The Golden Eagles also had four other players who added two hits in the victory.
La Sierra jumped out to the early lead with four runs in the first inning, but the Pioneers answered back with four runs of their own. The score remained tied until the fourth inning when the Golden Eagles put together three straight innings of scoring two runs in each of the three innings.
Game 2 proved to be a back an forth battle until the bottom of the eighth inning when the Pioneers pushed four runs across to secure the 6-2 victory.
La Sierra took a 1-0 lead with a run in the fifth inning. They held the lead until the sixth inning, when the Pioneers pushed two runs across, taking a 2-1 lead over the Golden Eagles.
The Golden Eagles tied the game at 2-2 with a run in the eighth inning, prior to the Pioneers securing the victory with four runs in the bottom half of the inning, winning the game 6-2.
La Sierra is now 3-29 on the season. They will have a busy weekend upcoming as they prepare to host five games starting on Friday afternoon with a doubleheader against Bethesda University, starting at 11am. Friday's games will be followed by a doubleheader on Sunday versus Arizona Christian and a single game with the Firestorm on Monday. Sunday's doubleheader is set for a 12pm first pitch while Monday's game is scheduled to start at 1pm.
