Redding, Calif. - The women's volleyball team continued their busy week tonight, as they travelled to Simpson University, for their third match in three nights.  But the Golden Eagles (9-4, 4-0 Cal Pac) showed no signs of fatigue, taking the match in three straight sets, 25-11, 25-15, 25-19.

La Sierra wasted no time taking control of the match as they cruised to a 25-11 win in the first set.In Set 2, the Golden Eagles continued to ride the momentum to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.  With their fourth match of the week still ahead of them, they were hoping to capitalize on the opportunity to close the match out in three sets.

In the third set, the Golden Eagles didn't quite get off to the start they were hoping for.  The Red Hawks jumped out to an early 4-1 lead, before erupting for 12 straight points to take a 13-4 lead.  But to the credit of the Red Hawks, they would fight their way back in a big way.  After getting a much needed side-out on a service error by La Sierra, the Red Hawks would go on a 10-3 run of their own to pull to within two points of a tie.  But that's as close as they would get, as the Golden Eagles regrouped in time to close the match out.

Through three matches, on this Northern California trip, La Sierra has yet to lose a set.  The team will take Thursday off, prior to concluding their trip with their final match at Menlo College.  The Oaks are the defending Cal Pac champions, finishing a perfect 9-0 in conference play last season.  In their only meeting last year, the Golden Eagles defeated the Oaks in four sets.  The Oaks are currently 5-3 on the season.  Friday's match will be their Cal Pac opener.
