Riverside, Calif. - The women's volleyball team got back on track with a dominating, straight set, victory over Providence Christian College. The Golden Eagles defeated the Seabeggars (25-13, 25-19, 25-17) to improve to 3-0 in the Cal Pac and 8-4 overall. In the early going of conference play, the Golden Eagles are one of two teams that are unbeaten in Cal Pac play. Embry-Riddle is currently 4-0 through their first four conference matches.
As a team, La Sierra finished with an impressive .405 hitting percentage, tallying 41 kills, on 79 attempts, and only nine errors. The Seabeggars struggled to keep pace with only 23 kills, on 65 attempts, and 18 attack errors, which was good for only a .077 hitting percentage.
Kiana Krumm led all players with 10 kills and four service aces on the night. She also led the team with eight digs. Shawnee Longmeyer-Poland had eight kills on 10 attempts, with only one attack error (.700), while Veronica Ramirez added seven kills.
Marissa Fregoso directed the offense and finished with 19 assists.
The Golden Eagles will once again take a short break from Cal Pac play, this Tuesday, when the team travels to Life Pacific College. La Sierra returns home this weekend for two big conference matches versus Benedictine University-Mesa and Embry-Riddle University.
