Riverside, CA. - The Golden Eagles opened their season with a stunning win at home against Arizona Christian University. Shane Shelton opened the scoring with the first goal 13 minutes into the game. David Nolan assisted on Shane's goal and got his second assist of the game10 minutes later, when he crossed the ball to Jonas Ornelas, as he scores his second goal of the season. Luis Escamilla tacked on a third goal, assisted by Diego Fontes, who also assisted on Ruben Solis goal in the final minute of the first-half. 
The second half saw the new look Golden Eagles continue to dominate between the lines as Kenneth Bonanken scored his first goal of the season 3 minutes in to the half. Luis Escamilla and Diego Fontes completed the scoring for the Golden Eagles.

Although six different players scored on the night, Coach Olivas gave a lot of credit to the defense for keeping a clean sheet. "Defensively we did a great job, and I hope we keep that going, Gabriel (Tito) and Cole are great leaders there in the back and we'll continue to look for them to keep us in the game". 

The Golden Eagles travel next week to Utah to take on McPherson College (KS) and Westminster College (UT).
