The Kurt Yaeger Memorial Golf Tournament was a big success. The proceeds went to benefit the La Sierra University Athletics program, specifically, to assist with athletic scholarships and the purchase of a team bus.
The golfers had a chance to win a Fritz Ford Mustang, $10,000 cash from AFLEC, an Electric Car donated by Alvarez Lincoln Mercury, and a two year lease on a Mercedes "C" Class from Walters Automotive Group.
Upon arrival participants were treated to breakfast at Victoria Club followed by 18 holes on the prestigious course. The banquet that followed had several speakers including La Sierra President Randal Wisby, and a touching tribute to Kurt Yaeger by some of his closest friends.
La Sierra University Athletic department wishes to thank the Yaeger family, in addition to all those that participated. "It was a great event, for a great cause. I feel privileged to have been a part of this day, and I am looking forward to next years tournament," said Tournament Director/La Sierra Associate Athletic Director Kip Shipley.
