Taking
on the higher-ranked Eagles on their home, the Golden Eagles knew they
needed to play well to have a chance for the upset. Biola took a 1-0
lead early in the contest and kept the one goal advantage in to the
break
Trailing 1-0 in the match, the Golden Eagles were determined to even
the
score. However, they quickly found themselves with 10 players when Shane
Shelton received a red card- for what the Official determined- to be a
dangerous high kick
and the Golden Eagles had to battle down to just 10 men. However, after
the half, La Sierra came out playing more structured and created a few
chances at the disadvantage. "We battled and fought to try to get back
in the game, but against a ranked and very disciplined team that is hard
to do" said Coach Olivas. Biola managed to score a second goal in the
second half, and the game ended 2-0. The Loss brings La Sierra's record
to 4-2 on the season.
"The good thing about our schedule is that we do not have much time to dwell on this loss, our focus now has to be on our next match, I believe that our players will be ready as we face a tough opponent this coming Sunday against PUC" Said Olivas " And I know that we will be ready for that, we will continue to get better".
Come support your Golden Eagles as they take on PUC on Sunday 1:00pm start.
