Los Angeles, CA: The Golden Eagles women's volleyball team keeps making history as they defeated Occidental College for the first time in the school's history. La Sierra dropped the first set but fought back to win in 4.The Golden Eagles improve to 16-2.

The match would begin with Occidental controlling the first game and winning 25-19 with a .333 team hitting percentage for the tigers.

The Golden Eagles quickly corrected any issues to take back control of the match. The Golden Eagles won the second set 25-22, and took the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-19 to close out the match.

Nikki Cheong led in digs with 16, to go along with Lura's 12 digs. Shelby Madigan had a strong match, recording 15 kills and a .452 hitting percentage along with 14 digs. Jessica Katz added 11 kills and a .409 hitting percentage along with 4 block assist. Caitlin Jaussi added 7 kills along with 14 digs.

Samantha Arriaran recorded her 8 double-double of the season with 46 assist and 16 digs. Maselina Semaia added 14 kills.

Riverside, CA: The Golden Eagles defeated Arizona Christian University 25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18, and improved its records to 17-2 overall and 7-1 in the Association of Independent Institutions conference volleyball standings, ACU drops to 12-12, 3-2 A.I.I.

Maselina Semaia led the Golden Eagles with 14 kills; Shelby Madigan added 13 kills and 2 serve aces. The Golden Eagles finished with 52 kills in 129 attempts with a .264 hitting percentage. ACU had a .157 hitting percentage.

Maria Guerrero recorded 5 solo blocks during the match; Jessica Katz added 2 solo blocks and 9 kills. Samantha Arriaran recorded another double-double with 42 assist and 10digs. Nikki Cheong led the Golden Eagles in digs with 17.

The Golden Eagles will take on Hannibal-La Grange on Saturday October 22 @7:30pm at the Alumni Pavilion of La Sierra University.
