Riverside Ca: The Golden Eagles (10-5-1) Hosted the Mariners from Marymount College this Sunday night, resulting in the first tie of the season for the Golden Eagles.
The game was a physical game from the beginning, La Sierra got on the scoreboard first as Sophomore Roman Santiago (Coachella Valley) scored his first goal of the season. The Mariners tied the game in added time in regulation to send the game to overtime. In overtime La Sierra had the most clear chances to score but were not able to as the Mariners Goalkeeper made some great saves.
"This being our Senior day, I was a little disappointed that we were not able to hold on for the win, But I am also impressed with the play of our group" Said Coach Olivas.
"I want to take the time to thank the seniors for their dedication to this program, they have been key players, mentors, and leaders on this team, and I could not ask anything more from them" Coach Olivas
The Golden Eagles finish up the season as they visit top ranked Chapman University on October 30th at 6:00pm.
