Orange Ca: La Sierra University men's soccer team wrapped up regular season today with a 3-1 win over Chapman University. The Golden Eagles have earned a spot in the Aii conference Tournament, which begins on Friday, Nov. 11.
The win over Chapman University brings La Sierra's Record to 11-5-1 in the season. La Sierra scored a pair of first-half goals just six minutes apart to take a 2-0 lead before halftime. Seniors David Nolan (33rd minute) and Luis Escamilla (39th minute) both capitalized on loose ball rebounds to score goals for the Golden Eagles and take them to a lead. Chapman scored on a failed clearance to bring the score 2-1 but La Sierra added some insurance with just 1:25 remaining when Luis E. scored for the second time in the game on a long assist from Defender Cole King who played the ball off the Eagles' own goal kick.
"It was a good way to finish the season" Said Coach Olivas,
La Sierra now will prepare to make their playoff appearance as they will travel to Thomasville Ga on Nov 11-13th.
