The Golden Eagles Baseball Team lost both games against University of Redlands on Sunday morning. The first game ended with a score of 10-9, while the second game ended 14-0.

The Golden Eagles took control of the first game by scoring 3 runs at the top of the third inning. However, University of Redlands would score 2 runs at the bottom of the third and 3 runs at the bottom of the fifth inning to get an early lead of 5-3. La Sierra scored 4 runs in the seventh inning and 1 more run in the eighth inning. By the end of the eighth inning, the Golden Eagles had a lead of 8-5 over University of Redlands. The Bulldogs came back and scored 4 runs at the bottom of the 9th inning to send the game to extra innings. University of Redlands won the game by a score of 10-9 in the 10th inning. The Golden Eagles were led by Gardea, Mascarenaz, and Johnson who all scored 2 runs in this first game.

The second game of the double header wasn't as close as the first one. The Bulldogs came strong during the first inning and scored 9 runs in the first inning. They would go on and scored 3 runs in the third, 1 in the fourth, and would finish the game scoring another run during the fifth inning. At the end of the game the score was 14-0 for the Bulldogs.

The Golden Eagles will travel to take on CSUSM on February 16, 2012 @2pm.
