The NAIA has announced that 162 Division II Women's Basketball student-athletes and 106 Division II Men's Basketball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Aaron Snyder played 57 games for the Golden Eagles. In those 57 games, he made over 155 FG's, including 92 three pointers. During the two years he played for La Sierra, he scored 428 points (7.5 point per game). Aaron Snyder shot 39.5% from the 3-point line and 70.3% from the Free Throw line. During the 2010-2011 season, he made six 3-point baskets in a game. In 2011, Snyder won a Press-Enterprise Performer of the Week!

Joshua Zonker missed the 2010-2011 season with an ankle injury. During the 2011-2012 season, he played in 29 games scoring 222 points, averaging 7.7 points per game. Joshua had two double-doubles this season. Against Vanguard University he score 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, his second double-double came against Portland Bible College with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Zonker averages almost 5 rebounds per game.

Ashley Baumgaertel played in 58 games during two years. Ashley scored 542 points and grabbed almost 400 rebounds in 2 years. She averaged 9.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Her biggest game for the Golden Eagles came in 2011 when she score 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Just like Aaron Snyder, Ashley won a Press-Enterprise Performer of the Week last season!
