Over forty area softball players came to La Sierra University on Sunday May 13, to try out for next years team.  Coach Tom Ogle and his staff have spent the last several months going to high schools and tournaments all over southern California to find players that match the needs of the team.

Sundays group included three possible Junior College Transfers, one NCAA DI transfer, and a host of local high school talent.

Coach Ogle began the tryout by spending time talking with all the parents about the University, the recruitment process, and the athletic program.  Meanwhile the perspective student athletes were in a class room where current La Sierra players explained what it meant to be a Golden Eagle.  They discussed the NAIA, Champions of Character, the mission of the University and what it meant to play here.

Only then did the girls get on to the field to show their softball talents.  According to Coach Ogle, the talent is very good.

Less than twenty four hours later (by Monday Mid-Morning), 15 of the student athletes Coach Ogle was impressed with, have called and made appointments for an official campus visit and financial estimate.
