La Mirada, CA - The Golden Eagles were coming off of a convincing victory, last Saturday night at Arizona Christian, but were unable to carry any of that momentum into tonight's match with No. 15 Biola University. Biola wasted no time, scoring their first goal in the 3rd minute of the match, and they never looked back, eventually defeating La Sierra, 8-1.

In what turned out to be a nightmarish first half for the Golden Eagles, Biola scored seven of their eight goals in the first half of the match. The first five goals were scored in a span of 13 minutes, creating a deficit the Golden Eagles were unable to recover from.

La Sierra continued to work hard, playing a much stronger second half. The Golden Eagles outshot Biola 12-9 in the second half as opposed to being outshot themselves 14-3 in the first half. La Sierra would finally break through with their lone goal, on a header from Dakota Shelton off of a corner kick from Diego Fontes. The goal was Shelton's second of the season and it was a team leading fourth assist for Fontes.

The Golden Eagles (3-2) will have to wait until Saturday to rebound from tonight's loss. They will play host to Pacific Union College in their home-opener on Saturday night, at 8:00pm. The Pioneers are currently 0-2, with a loss to Bethesda Christian College (10-1) and another loss by forfeit. Saturday night's match is a re-scheduled match from last month, which was originally scheduled to be played at Pacific Union College.
