The Golden Eagles women's volleyball team finished off a busy week, hosting San Diego Christian College tonight at the Alumni Pavilion. La Sierra defeated the Hawks during the first week of the season in four games. Tonight, the Golden Eagles made quick work of the Hawks in a three game victory, 25-17, 25-16, 25-19.

La Sierra used a combination of steady offense and stellar play at the net for the three game sweep. Lina Semaia led the team in kills with 11. Shelby Madigan added 13 digs and eight kills. Colleen Stafford finished with 26 assists on the night, a total of eight kills more than the entire San Diego Christian team. But it was the play at the net that seemed to set the tone for the evening. The Golden Eagles out-blocked the Hawks 12-3, with 14 block assists and 5 solo blocks. Ashley Baumgartel led La Sierra with five block assists and one solo block.

It will be another busy week for the Golden Eagles with four matches scheduled. The first of the four matches will take place on Tuesday evening, when The Master's College will pay a visit to the Alumni Pavilion, followed by matches on Friday afternoon, Saturday night, and Sunday morning. The Master's College defeated the Golden Eagles in their first meeting of the season. Tuesday's match is scheduled for a 7:30 start.
