The Golden Eagles Men's Soccer team traveled to Arizona this weekend and began the trip with a big win at Southwestern College. David Nolan lead LSU with two goals, scoring his first in the 41st minute, followed by a tally in the 65th minute. Both goals were assisted by Roman Santiago. Kenny Bonanken scored LSU's third goal of the day on an assist from Jimmy Ross. Luis Eascamilla assisted on Roman Santiago's first collegiate goal, setting him up late in the game. Ross again added his name to the scorers sheet, this time with a goal in the final minute, assisted by Kenny Bonanken.
Not to be overlooked by the impressive offensive output from the Golden Eagles, was the outstanding work in goal by keeper Gabriel Ezqueda. Ezqueda followed up his impressive first outing against Cal Baptist where he made save after big save, with a shutout of Southwestern. Tested several times, his biggest save came early in the second half when a shot required him to extend and tip the ball over the bar.
LSU plays its second game of the trip Sunday at Embry-Riddle.
