La Mirada, CA - The Golden Eagles women's basketball team travelled to Biola University for their first road game of the season. The team was playing their third game in six days and looking to carry momentum from their first win of the season on Thursday evening against University of California - Merced. Tonight, the Golden Eagles had a tougher task, going up against Biola, who capitalized with a strong second half to pull away for the 76-42 win.
Biola jumped out to the early lead, before the Golden Eagles settled into the game. From that point on, the first half was a back-n-forth affair that saw Biola take a 13-point lead into the half, 31-18
In the second half, Biola came out determined to utilize their size by pounding the ball inside, establishing their inside game to open up their outside game. Aside from a mini-run midway through the second half, Biola utilized their depth, size, and athleticism to secure victory.
The Golden Eagles fall to 1-2 on the season. After a busy week to get things started, they will have the full week to practice before their next game at Vanguard University, next Saturday night.
