Riverside, CA - The Golden Eagles men's basketball team played host to West Coast Baptist College looking to turn the tide and get back in the win column.  But after another feverish rally, late in the second half, La Sierra fell just short in the 77-80 loss.

The game consisted of eight ties and six lead changes, with the Golden Eagles holding the early eight-point lead midway through the first half.  But West Coast Baptist climbed their way back to lead 41-39 at the half.

With just over four minutes left to play in the game, West Coast Baptist had extended their lead to 15 points.  That is when La Sierra made a comeback that would fall just short.  The Golden Eagles held West Coast scoreless for the final 4:27 but came up three points short, losing 77-80.

La Sierra had four players who scored in double-figures led by guard C.J. Goldsmith who finished with a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.  Senior Josh Zonker added 14 points while Bennett Shaw added 13 points of his own.  Javion Garner rounded things out by tallying 12 points on the night.

The Golden Eagles fall to 4-23 on the season.  They will play the second game of a men's and women's double-header this Sunday, when they host New Hope Christian College.  The men's game is scheduled to start at approximately 7pm.  Sunday's game will be the final home game of the season for the men's basketball team.  The team will also honor their seniors prior to the start of the game.
