Riverside, CA - With the team fighting to qualify for the Association of Independent Institutions conference playoffs, every remaining game is of vital importance.

The Golden Eagles were a bit slow out of the gate and struggled to find their offensive rhythm.  But in the final seven minutes of the first half, La Sierra used good team defense and offensive execution to outscore New Hope by 16 points, taking a 37-25 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Deacons cut into the lead, fighting their way back to within four points.  But once again, La Sierra answered the call in similar fashion to secure the victory.

La Sierra shot 43-percent from the field, including 8-of-23 from the three point line (35%).  They also shot a season high 92-percent from the free throw line, capitalizing on 11-of-12 attempts.

Joirdan Jones led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Victoria Lowe added 17 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  And Natalia Hawthorn tallied 15 points, four steals, four assists, and a team high seven rebounds.

The women's basketball team is now 13-15 on the season with only two games remaining on the regular season schedule.  On Tuesday, the women's basketball team will play Bethesda University.  The game will be played at Hope International University and the game time has been adjusted for a 7:00pm tip-off.  The team will close out the regular season at home, playing host to Biola University.
