Atherton, CA - Playing their third opponent in as many days, the Golden Eagles pulled out a 9-8 victory over Oregon Institute of Technology with seven runs in the eighth inning.
Trailing 7-2, the Golden Eagles led of the top of the inning with three straight singles. There was a walk and a wild pitch mixed in, but the big hit came on a base clearing triple from outfielder Harrison Guiol, that gave La Sierra a 8-7 lead. Guiol would eventually score the ninth run on an infield single by Marquise Kidd.
Oregon Tech pulled to within one run on a two-out solo homerun by Dylan Rogers in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Cole Williams picked up the win for the Golden Eagles, pitching five innings and giving up one earned run on four hits.
Kendyll Garvin was charged with the loss after giving up seven earned runs on five hits.
The Golden Eagles finished with 14 total hits in the game, while the Hustlin' Owls collected 13 hits of their own. The two teams committed a total of two errors each in the game.
With the win the Golden Eagles notch their second victory on the season for a record of 2-22. The team will take the Easter weekend off before heading back on the road, next Tuesday, to face The Master's College in an afternoon doubleheader, with the first game starting at 12:30pm.
