Rocklin, Calif. - The men's soccer team played their first ever Cal Pac match this afternoon, as they travelled to William Jessup University (Rocklin, Calif.).  The game will not soon be forgotten, as the Golden Eagles (1-1, 1-0) came from behind to notch the 2-1 victory, on two goals by senior Kenneth Henry.

Dylan Valentine started the scoring by giving the Warriors a 1-0 in the 24th minute.  It was a lead they would carry into halftime.

La Sierra came out in the second half determined to get more shots toward the net, outshooting the Warriors 9-3 in the second half, and 15-6 for the game, seven of which were shots on goal.  But despite tallying more shots, the Warriors did enough to keep the Golden Eagles scoreless for the first 70 minutes of the match.

With 19 minutes left to play in the match, Henry found the back of the net on an unassisted goal in the 71st minute.

Both teams played to a 1-1 tie, in the final minutes of regulation, sending the match into overtime.  But that wouldn't last, as Henry scored his second goal of the match, the game winner, just 27 seconds into overtime, on an assist by Sid Dube.

It was the first win of the season for the Golden Eagles, who opened the season last Wednesday with a 3-0 loss to Vanguard University.

The team will have one day to recover, before their next match-up on Friday afternoon, at Pacific Union College (Angwin, Calif.).  It will be another Cal Pac match, that is set for a 3:00pm start.
