For their play, during a 2-0 week, senior forward Kenneth Henry and senior defender Darren Bonanken were each named Cal Pac Soccer Player of the Week.
Henry, a native of Concord, California, returned home to the northern part of the state, and led the Golden Eagles to victory in both matches. On Wednesday, he scored the tying goal with just under 20 minutes to play, then scored the golden goal just 27 seconds into the start of the overtime period, for a 2-1 win over William Jessup University. It was not only their first win of the season, but their first ever Cal Pac victory. Henry followed up his two-goal effort by scoring three goals in their 8-0 win over Pacific Union College, on Friday.
Bonanken helped lead a defensive effort that allowed one goal in over 180 minutes of play. The defense allowed just one shot on goal in the victory over PUC. The senior defender also scored two of the eight goals in Friday's win.
The Golden Eagles are back in action this evening, at 6:00pm, as they play host to Biola University, who has started the season with a 4-0 record.
