Riverside, Calif. - The women's volleyball team remained unbeaten at home this season, with a straight set non-conference victory over West Coast Baptist College, 25-10, 25-12, 25-20. The Golden Eagles (14-6, 7-1 Cal Pac) extend their home winning streak to 10 games, dating back to last season.
The team returned home after playing three straight road matches, last week, going 2-1 in that stretch.
Tonight, the Golden Eagles cruised to victory over West Coast Baptist in the first and only meeting between the two teams this season.
La Sierra used the competition to rest some players and get everyone some valuable game experience. Kalie LaBrie led the team with seven kills in the match, with no errors on 11 total attempts (.636). Sasha Birt-Moody and Robyn Miller each contributed six kills, with a handful of players collecting three kills in the effort.
Setter Colleen Stafford finished with 24 assists including five digs and two service aces.
The Golden Eagles will finish the week off with another non-conference match this Saturday night. They will travel to Occidental College tomorrow night, before returning home next Wednesday, against Westmont College. The match versus Westmont will be the team's next opportunity to extend their streak.
La Sierra will jump back into conference play next Friday afternoon when they host Simpson University (3pm), followed by a match versus William Jessup University on Saturday night.
