Vallejo, Calif. - The Golden Eagles collected their sixth conference win with a 4-1 victory over California State University-Maritime, this afternoon, in northern California.  La Sierra rebounded from their loss to Marymount College earlier this week.

All five goals scored in the match, were scored in the first half of the game.  The Keelhaulers jumped on the scoreboard first when Marshall Fice put one past the pipes in the 10th minute.  But after the first goal it was all Golden Eagles.

Kennth Henry tied the score at 1-1 with an unassisted goal in the 23rd minute.  Joel Mendoza put the Golden Eagles ahead for good with a score off of a pass from Josue Meza in the 35th minute.  Minutes later, Meza scored his first goal of the season on an assist from Roman Santiago (39th minute).  Santiago closed out the scoring just prior to the end of the first half with an unassisted goal of his own.

Goalkeeper Roberto Rodriquez picked up his first win of the season in his first start of the season.  The Golden Eagles defense was stellar in front of Rodriquez, as they allowed the Keelhaulers just two shots on goal.

The win moves the Golden Eagles back into a second-place tie, in the Cal Pac South Division, with Soka University, at 6-2.  The Golden Eagles now, 6-4 overall, continue to chase Marymount who stands alone in first-place with a record of 8-0.

La Sierra will take Saturday off, before finishing their trip with a conference match at University of California – Merced on Sunday afternoon.  The Bobcats are currently 3-4 in Cal Pac play.
