It was a tough match-up for the Golden Eagles who entered the contest with just seven players, due to sickness.  And the Mustangs took full advantage, by jumping all over the Golden Eagles early and never looking back.  La Sierra struggled throughout the first half, to find themselves trailing 56-15 at the halftime break.

In the second half, the Golden Eagles regrouped a bit for a respectable second half.  They were outscored 39-35 in the second half, but they more than doubled their scoring from the first half and also competed much better on the defensive side of the floor.

Leilani Tuani-Fifita led the team in scoring with 16 points to go along with six rebounds.  Kristen Brummett was a perfect 4-of-4 from the 3-point line to finish with 14 points and five rebounds.  Shelby Madigan added 11 points.  Victoria Lowe pitched in with nine points and seven rebounds.

The blowout loss drops the Golden Eagles to 9-11 on the season.  They will have a few days off, to get healthy, before jumping back on the floor to prepare for their next two conference games next weekend.

Next Thursday, the Golden Eagles will host Simpson University, followed by a game with William Jessup University next Saturday.
