Congratulations to Natalia Hawthorne who has been named Cal Pac Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time in the past three weeks.
Hawthorne picked up the honors this week for her play in two Cal Pac Conference wins this last week. She scored 10 points and dished out three assists in a decisive victory over Simpson University on Thursday evening.
But it was the impressive showing in a 56-44 win over William Jessup University that helped earn her Player of the Week honors. Hawthorne scored 27 points, just under 50% of the team's total. In addition to her scoring, she pulled down six rebounds, had four assists, and five steals.
For the week's games she finished with an average of 18.5 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, and 3 steals per game.
This is the second time this season Hawthorne has received Player of the Week recognition. She was named Cal Pac Conference Player of the Week back on January 6, for her play during the week of December 30-January 5.
The women's basketball team will travel to Pomona-Pitzer this evening for a non-conference game with the Sagehens. Tonight's game is schedule to tip-off at approximately 7:30pm.
