Irvine, Calif. - The Golden Eagles baseball team travelled to Concordia University this afternoon for a single game, which they dropped to the Eagles by a final of 4-1.
La Sierra jumped on the board first with a run in the 1st inning to take a 1-0 lead. After Matt Valenzuela led off the game with a double, Jake Magness drove him in with a double of his own to the right-centerfield gap.
The Golden Eagles were held scoreless for the final eight innings, collecting a total of five hits in that span, to finish with seven hits in the game. Concordia outhit the Golden Eagles, 13-7, in the game.
Michael Gonzalez led the team with a 2-for-4 day, while Magness collected the lone RBI for the Golden Eagles.
Dillon Moran pitched a complete game to pick up the win for Concordia, giving up one run on seven hits, while collecting nine strikeouts and giving up only one base on balls. Logan Duran was charged with the loss for the Golden Eagles.
The baseball team falls to 1-14 with today's loss. They will return to action next Friday, March 14, when they travel to Vanguard University for an afternoon doubleheader, starting at 12pm.
