The Golden Eagles women's basketball program is happy to announce the signing, of Vyvy Tran, one of their first signings of the 2014 recruiting class.

 

Tran, the 5'4 guard and native of Sacramento, Calif., joins the Golden Eagles family from Luther Burbank High School (Sacramento, Calif.) where she is not only a decorated athlete but also an honor roll student. 

While at Luther Burbank, she a was member of the basketball team all four years, in addition to running track and cross country.  She has been a member of the varsity basketball team since her freshmen year.  During her junior and recently completed senior seasons she was named 2nd Team All-League and 1st Team All-League, respectively. 

 

During her high school cross country career, Tran finished in the Top 20 and in her senior year finished in the Top 10 in the championships and was named All Metro League.

 

Her athletic talents are mirrored by her success in the classroom as well.  Tran was awarded "Student of the Month" earlier this year, while also receiving a Rotary Award for her academic excellence.  She has also been named to the honor roll for the past three straight years.

 

We are happy to welcome Vyvy Tran to La Sierra University, where she will continue her academic and athletic journey as a member of the Golden Eagles family.
