In a game that saw the Golden Eagles shoot a season worse 23%, the Women of La Sierra went down to defeat at the hands of the Whittier Poets, at the Graham Athletic Center. La Sierra never found its offensive rhythm and fell behind 33-15 at half. Despite a better second half, the deficit never got closer than 19 and the Poets finished strong behind a game high 17 points and 12 rebound performance from senior ,Kourtney Zilbert.

The Golden Eagles were led by Junior center Ashley Baumgaertel who scored 10 points before fouling out with 3 minutes left in the game. Freshman Vicky Lowe, had a season high 14 rebounds to go with 9 points, coincidental on her 19Th birthday! The loss drops La Sierra to 4-11 on the season. The Golden Eagles next take the court on Wednesday, Dec. 8, as they travel to face the Sagehens at the Rains Center, on the campus of Pomona-Pitzer College. Tip time for that game is 7 pm.
