Riverside, Calif. - The Golden Eagles men's soccer program has signed two more student-athletes to their 2014 recruiting class. Jonathan Vargas and Christian Morales each signed with La Sierra University last week, joining the growing list of recruits who have committed to the program over the last few weeks.
Vargas arrives at La Sierra from Westchester High School, also located in Los Angeles. He was a two-year captain with the Comets, playing the right-back position.
Vargas' brother, Francisco, played for the Under-23 Chivas USA team.
The 5'11 defender also excels in the classroom as an Honor Student at Westchester. While at La Sierra University, Vargas will pursue a degree in Business.
Morales is a defensive midfielder who will join La Sierra from Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, Calif. While at Cathedral he helped lead his team to a Del Rey League Championship and a CIF Southern Section Championship this past season. He also experienced a trip to the CIF quarterfinals and semifinals over a three-year span at Cathedral.
Morales excelled in the classroom as well, gaining honors for his academic work as well. He plans to pursue a major in Communications at La Sierra University.
We would like to extend a welcome, to these two recent signees, to the Golden Eagles family.
