Melanie Henderson has signed a letter of intent with La Sierra University.  The 5'10 forward, from Chino Hills, will join the Golden Eagles women's basketball program this coming fall.

Henderson arrives at La Sierra from nearby Chino Hills High School.  She is a four-year starter on the varsity squad, with the past three years at Chino Hills and her freshmen season at Chino High School.  For the past three years, Henderson has been named 2nd Team All League in addition to "Honorable Mention All Inland Empire" (by the Daily Bulletin).

Melanie also served as team captain for the past two seasons, while helping her team to a 17-8 overall record, and a 9-1 league record and a Sierra League championship.  In addition to playing basketball, Henderson was also a member of the track team this past season and a representative for her team and school on various leadership committees.

While at La Sierra University, Henderson will pursue her goal of becoming a physical therapist.  We would like to welcome Melanie and her family to the La Sierra University community and to the Golden Eagles athletic family.
