Andy Press comes to La Sierra University having coached high school basketball in Northern California for the past six seasons. Coach Press' relationship with Coach Thorson started when they coached together in 2000 at St. Anthony High School in Long Beach. They combined to lead the Lady Saints to their first ever C.I.F. championship. Coach Press brings a total of eleven years of coaching experience, with an emphasis on the defensive end of the court. "Andy Press' passion for basketball is exactly what the La Sierra Women's Basketball program needs," said Coach Thorson. "We are very lucky to have added a coach with Andy's background to our staff at La Sierra University. 

"I am very excited to begin my college coaching career at La Sierra University. I see unlimited potential for the student athletes that have been recruited to play here. I expect to see this program achieve even greater success, and I'm excited to be a part of that," said Coach Press.

Andy lives in Orange County, and in his free time enjoys golfing, reading and going to the movies. Andy has a Bachelor's Degree in History and Political Science from California State University at Long Beach. He is currently completing his Master's Degree in Academic Counseling from San Jose State University.
