Gomez comes to La Sierra Universityafter spending 7 years as the Girls JV coach andAssistant varsity basketball coach and 8 years as the girls volleyball coach at Fontana High School. Gomez is also in her second year as the assistant volleyball coach at La Sierra University. As the girls basketball coach she helped the girls varsity team to two playoff appearances. Prior to her time at Fontana she coached 1 year at Banning High School in Los Angeles.

As a player Gomez put together an excellent prep career at King City High School, making all-league and all county her senior year. She also lead her team in points, assists, and steal her senior year. She moved on to play atHartnell College in 1998 for two years, thentransferred to the University of La Verne and finished playing her career there in 2002. She graduated with aBachelors Degree in SportsMedicine and then went on toWhittier college to get her Masters degree in Education.

Gomez continues to teach PE at Fontana High School and lives in Fontana.
