Brian Murphy joined La Sierra University Athletics department as the head Athletic Trainer in September of 2006. Murphy came to La Sierra University from Redlands High School where he served as the Head Athletic Trainer for 20 high school sports for one year. Before Redlands High School, Murphy spent three years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with UC Riverside. The first year he served as an intern athletic trainer, followed by two years as an assistant athletic trainer.
Murphy received his Master of Science degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy in July of 2006, and received a second Master of Science degree in Sports Medicine from the Academy in June of 2007. The native of Belleville, Illinois, graduated in 2000, with his Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training from McKendree College, in Lebanon, Illinois.
Brian is a member of the NATA and his hobbies include all sports, including hiking. He is married and resides in Rancho Cucamonga with his wife Lisa, and their son and daughter.
